Incorporated in 2006 as an independent organization after 17 years of partnership with the North American Schering-Plough, Mantecorp is one of the protagonists of the national pharmaceutical sector, included amongst the largest laboratories of the Country. Its strategic goal is to consolidate itself as the best Brazilian company providing health and welfare products and services to the population. To attain such objective, the company has on its side the knowledge accumulated alongside the one that consolidated itself as one of the most successful joint-ventures of the sector in Brazil.
Mantecorp is commanded by the entrepreneur Gian Enrico Mantegazza, one of the leaders in representing international brands within the pharmaceutical market of the Country and to whom was entrusted, in 1989, the management of the Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Schering-Plough Ltda, which became research and development, industrial quality and relationship with society benchmark, having conquered the leadership in many segments, such as the high complexity medications, anti-flu medicines, respiratory medicines, corticoids and dermatologic medicines.
With 300 thousand square meters of total area and 50 thousand square meters of industrial facilities, Mantecorp's manufacturing facility, in Rio de Janeiro, is considered one of the most modern of the pharmaceutical sector. From its facilities, approximately 100 million units of products are produced annually.
The portfolio of brands is one of the most important assets of the company. In it, one finds traditional products and products of immense respectability among consumers and medical area professionals, such as the Coristina anti-flu medicine, the Epidrat line, the anti-allergenic Polaramine, the corticoid Diprospan and the antifungal and anti-inflammatory Quadridem, besides high complexity medications for illnesses like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, ulcerative retocolitis and Crohn's disease.
The incorporation restructuring of Schering-Plough originated the holding Mantecorp Participações S.A., which comprises the following companies: Mantecorp Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Ltda, Mantecorp Logística, Distribuição e Comércio S/A and the Brainfarma Indústria Química e Farmacêutica Ltda.
The Mantecorp Farma is responsible for the most prominent portion of the company's business. It counts on six product lines - Respiratory, Dermatologic, Central Nervous System, Pediatric, Orthopedic, Gynecologic and Obstetrics. It also operates in the Biotechnological segment, which is responsible for medications for the treatment of high complexity illnesses, and Medicaments Exempt from Prescription, which encompasses the line of sun-blockers, nasal decongestant, anti-flu medicines and fever reducing medicines.
Mantecorp Logística, in turn, oversees the commercialization, inventory management and distribution of products with the Mantecorp and Schering-Plough signatures, besides other laboratories. Its infrastructure benefits from a modern 3,500-square-meter Distribution Center, situated in the municipality of Duque de Caxias (State of Rio de Janeiro).
Unit directed to prospecting and the establishment of associations with other companies from the pharmaceutical sector for development, manufacturing, promotion and commercialization of medications, the New Business unit presents itself as a potential partner of international laboratories that wish to operate in the Brazilian market.
